Myanmar to Debut International Film Festival for Human Rights

The inaugural event will be held in Yangon June 15-19, before going on a screening roadshow to 13 rural villages across the country.Once isolated, now rapidly opening to the West, the Southeast Asian nation of Myanmar is set to debut a new international film festival dedicated to an issue essential to its ongoing efforts at democratization and reform: human rights.

Ally Derks, Festival Director of International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) and
Programmer Raul Niño Zambrano visited to HRHDIFF Office on 25th Mar 2013.
Ally Derks will be one of the international jury in HRHDIFF Film Festival.
We discussed about possible cooperation between two festival organizations in the future.

On 11th Mar 2013, HRHDIFF has signed the MOU with a local media partner, Cherry FM.
Festival Director, Min Htin Ko Ko Gyi and Cherry FM’s GM, U Than Htwe Zaw exchanged the MOU.
